The Rockets quick-pace offense was paying dividends early, but the Spurs consistently hung with them, nabbing six steals as it quickly devolved into a solo performance by Harden (47 points, 19/30). Before long, the Spurs went up by a large margin, leading 82-63 at halftime. T.J. Warren hit a 4-PT play, the Spurs went on an 8-0 run, forcing more turnovers, and were boosted by a solid team effort.
The burial dragged onward, erupting into a 107-82 road seige after a 3-PT flurry by Iman Shumpert (18 points, 4/7 3PT) Patty Mills (28 points, 7/11 3PT) & Skal Labissiere (2-2 3PT). T.J. Warren (16 points) let one fly through the net for good measure, as the Spurs led 126-105 after the third quarter.
The fourth quarter had Chris Paul (6/16, 17 points) air-balling a 3PTer, as the Spurs finished with 13 blocks and 60% shooting, hitting 23 amazing three-point shots (23-41, 56%), whereas Houston went 3-14 from distance. The Rockets did win the glass, 31-28, but lost the ball twelve times. The Spurs scoring was liquid in this game, 41 points in both first half quarters, then 32 and 30 to end it.
Dejounte Murray had 16 points with 6 assists, driving hard at Clint Capela (12 points, 5 rebounds) all night long. Brandon Ingram rested most of the second half, scoring 22 points with 4 steals. Avery Bradley scored 10 points with 3 steals and 5 assists for the Spurs. Dragan Bender notched 7 points with 3 blocks and Skal Labissiere made for 8 points.
