Curry cooks Spurs at the buzzer, 124-126.

Curry downed the Spurs at the buzzer.
Everything seemed to be going rightly for the road visitors from San Antonio, breaking the game open on a 9-0 run, led by a fierce outpouring by T.J. Warren (30 points, 6 rebounds, 5 3PTers) in the first quarter.

Then it all went wrong as the multifaceted nature of the Golden State Warriors came out to play, highlighted by two score-tying shots of late game heroics by an otherwise quiet Kevin Durant (11 points) and spearheaded by Stephen Curry (33 points, 13 assists, 3/4 3PT) whose buzzer beater epitomized the firepower on display at ORACLE Arena. Chef Curry found himself with the ball, the score a stalemate, after Kevin Durant was hounded in the corner by Brandon Ingram (15 points, 7/15, 0-5 3PT), elevating over Avery Bradley (21 points, three 3PTers) for the sensational dagger.

The Spurs also showcased their own scoring abilities, despite falling short. Bradley even got a partial block on the ball, left to suffer in witness as it went through the net for the disheartening defeat, having been tasked with guarding Curry--and doing well at it, helping him to shoot 13/29--all game long.

Meanwhile, this game was a tale of many runs. Draymond Green answered the explosion by Warren, scoring 12 points in the first quarter, finishing with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (10/11 FG). DeMarcus Cousins dominated the paint for 22 beastly rebounds, to go with 26 points on 11/14 overall. Klay Thompson sniped the Spurs, splashing away their spirits with 17 points on three clutch long-balls. Andre Iguodala contributed 10 points off the bench for Golden State, as they make the season series 1-2 and deliver San Antonio a 15th loss on the season.

Patty Mills sparked the Spurs road offense.
In narrow defeat, the Spurs were second-led by Patty Mills with 22 points off five 3PT bombs, the Australian Sniper showcasing his clutch talent, quelling mini-runs by the Warriors here and there. Skal Labissiere, who hit back-to-back 3-PT blows, scored 13 points. Dragan Bender missed some open looks and had the worst turnover of the entire game, giving the Warriors the ball back (which led to Durant tying the game a second time), not quite redeeming his errors with two late lay-ins. The Croatian prospect had 10 points with 3 blocks in a mixed performance. Dejounte Murray faded in the second half, finishing with only eight points despite 12 assists. Kyle O'Quinn had three blocks, but the big men of San Antone deeply disappointed tonight.

The assists battle was won by GS, 30-29, whereas the glass was owned by the Warriors at 44-23. San Antonio's defense, preserved as ever, impressed for 8 blocks and 11 steals. Golden State did miss four free throws, but overcame this deficiency, shooting 61% overall on the field compared to 54% by the Spurs. San Antonio made 15 three-pointers, to Golden State's six bombs. The quarters went as such: 35-28, SA; 31-25, GS; 34-32, SA; 35-30, GS as the Warriors closely pulled out the home win, overcoming a 10-PT deficit at haltime of 59-69.

In defeat, the Spurs fumbled key opportunities after going on 8-0 and 11-2 runs, losing a 5-PT advantage in the final quarter.
